Conservative Dentistry is the branch of dentistry which is concerned with the conservation of teeth in the mouth. It embraces the practice of operative dentistry and endodontics, and includes various kinds of direct and indirect restorations of individual teeth in the mouth. The primary goal of this department is prevention, diagnosis and treatment of sequelae of dental caries and the other defects of natural teeth; techniques and procedures to restore the teeth to full function and appearance in an aesthetically pleasing manner with as little loss of the healthy tooth structure as possible with periodic check-up as routine practice. The branch of Endodontics involves performing root canal treatment and associated surgical procedures. The treatment provided includes various restorations, root canal treatment, surgical endodontics, endodontic implants, bleaching, & management of traumatized teeth.

The Department is well equipped with 12 dental chairs in the PG clinic 21 dental chairs in the UG clinic. Department also has a separate Pre clinical laboratory which is equipped with 74 phantom heads with micromotor attachment and 8 phantom heads with airotor.

We have a Seminar room with LCD projector and visualizer as audio visual aid for conductance of seminars, workshops and demonstrations. The other facilities include Departmental library, Sterilization section, and Radiography section with facility of automatic film processor & state of the art PSP for digital radiography. For laboratory work we have Centralized casting lab for metal & ceramic work. Our department also has a Dental museum and patient education room for the benefit of patients.
