Public health dentistry is one of the special branch in dentistry, which mainly focuses on Prevention of oral diseases, Promoting oral health and prolonging the health of all oral tissues through organized community efforts.

The objectives of our department are -1) To conduct outreach programs targeting various vulnerable population and rendering oral health education, preventive, curative and referral services.2) To provide comprehensive oral health care to referred patients, which includes chair side health education, pit and fissure sealant application, topical fluoride application, glass ionomer cement restorations, amalgam and composite restorations, endodontic treatments, rehabilitative procedures, extractions and referral to other specialty departments for special care. 3) To provide expertise to the field of public health sectors to impart a leadership role in giving an effective solutions to improve the oral health of populations rather than individuals.4) To accentuate the graduating students to show their competencies in research, academic, and administrative careers in Dental Public Health.

Our branch majorly focuses on the topic of Epidemiology, Social Science, Biostatistics, Administration and management, Program planning and implementation , Professional and Research Ethics, Oral health care advocacy and policy, Environmental health, Health care research and in preventive dentistry.
